Mark Week-end 2015
   
Friday 13th February was the start for this year’s Mark week-end break. It proved to be a great choice, the weather and venue was better than anyone expected.
 
The Royal Victoria hotel in Llanberis is a popular venue for weddings, romantic breaks it is also a popular place for both the experience and novice ramblers. The hotel is situated at the foot of Mount Snowden close to the railway station that takes the less able people to the top of the mountain.
W Bro Colin Svenson arranged for 111 guests’ to stay at the hotel, he also managed to get the management to provide a free 2 nights stay for 2 people at the hotel, which was won by Bro Wayne Cockrell.
Friday night’s entertainment was organised by W Bro Colin Svenson and W Bro Tommy McLaughlin.
During Saturday guests went their different ways enjoying walking locally some on easy and some on difficult walks. Others travelled by either car or the local bus their journeys included trips to Llandudno, Bangor, Port Merion, Caernarfon, and Betws-y-Coed. In the evening some of the guests, performed a small but hilarious Play, written by V W Bro Barry Elman. The evening was completed with a performance from various guests. The prizes for best costume were won by Barbara Taylor, George Crawley and Ryan Cockrell.
On Sunday Our Provincial Grand Master was presented with a small gift of two tickets for a steam train experience on the Snowden steam Railway. Our PGM thanked all concerned for a very enjoyable week-end.
Colin Svenson announced that next year’s venue will be at the Royal Victoria hotel again. Already Colin has been approached by over 30 people to be booked in.
